If you visit fast food chains and pick the grilled chicken breast in order to have a “healthier” option, you might be surprised to know just how many hidden ingredients you might find.

In February 2017, CBC Market published an investigation into several fast food chains. They sent samples of the so-called chicken breasts to scientists at Trent University for DNA testing.

Have you heard the advertisement, “Subway, Eat Fresh”? Well, you might say that this statement is about as far from the truth as it gets! Two DNA tests revealed that about half of subway chicken pieces are made up of fillers. Here are the hidden ingredients including 5 types of salt, 7 sources of sugars and well over a dozen likely sources of genetically modified ingredients including soy.

Subway has refused any interviews but is apparently looking into the situation.
